Info: Sadie is a stunning bay roan mare with a good handle on her. She rides great in and out of the arena—she’s very light and responsive, with smooth and easy to ride gaits. Sadie is very safe to be around (no spook, buck, or ill manners), but she is not suited for a beginner rider as she’s a forward-moving horse with plenty of buttons. She would do fine for a handy youth rider. If you enjoy a light and feely horse, you will love her. However, if you’re looking for something steady and deadheaded with more “whoa” than “go,” she will not be that. She is very sweet and good minded. She enjoys her scratches and human company and is generally easy to catch.

Sadie would make a fantastic prospect for barrels, playdays, ranch work, roping, and more. Sadie knows the barrel pattern and is started on poles, but she was rushed a little by whoever started her on the pattern and needs more slow work to be 100%. She tries really hard to please and will make an AMAZING barrel horse. She is a very athletic mare with a beautiful stocky build and lots of power. She has been around other horses and livestock and does well. She is very sure footed and can go all day long. She’s been hauled and exposed to different environments and handles it well. She does have some buttons and will spin, stop, move hind quarters, backup, open gates, go over bridges, etc. I am riding her consistently and getting her more correct on these maneuvers daily.

Sadie was used for ranch work and trail riding by previous owners. I have taken this mare down the road, passing 18-wheelers, ATV’s, dogs, new horses running up and down fence lines, cattle, deer jumping out, over bridges, around tractors, etc. and this mare keeps her cool through it all. She has never made me feel unsafe on her back. I have also swung a rope on her, drug logs, messed with tarps, and have had my dog jump on her and ride with me and she is cool with it all!

Sadie is fantastic to bathe, load, tie, and stands quietly for the farrier. She is sound and has good feet. Whether she’s stalled or out in the pasture, she’s happy either way. She tends to do better pastured as the dust from the stalls can make her a bit congested/wheezy.

Sadie will continue advancing in my training program until she is ready for her new home. She will come with an up-to-date Coggins, recently floated teeth, deworming, chiropractic work, farrier work, and vaccinations, all on file. I understand buying a grade horse is stressful when it comes to confirming their age. She has been confirmed to be 13 by multiple vets/professionals. PPE’s are welcome at the buyers expense and shipping can be arranged at the buyers expense.
